In 1999 David Hurlbut bought this building

which had originally housed The Harmony Club.

A Gentleman's club in Selma, Alabama,

overlooking the Alabama River.

He has turned the club into a home without

loosing the spirit or the poetic decadence

of the interior.

Nowadays it's a bit of a luxury to have

outside space at home. To my mind a living

space built around a courtyard is the perfect

living situation...add a garden and a terrace

or two and who could ask for anything more. 

God Save The Food - Milano

If you're in the area of  Via Tortona 34 - Milano and

fancy a drink or something to eat you could do a lot

worse than popping into God Save The Food with it's

pleasing interior of clean lines and calm ambience.

Beautiful Parquet

At 53, Pembridge Road. London W11

I saw this amazing solid parquet in the

window of the SOLID FLOOR shop.

I think, when used in small amounts, 

transplanted into a concrete floor for 

example this would work beautifully.
