Tom Dixon - Stevie Parle in Milan

For Design Week in Milan this year there are many venues. 

The one where Tom Dixon is showing and also has the

role of Art Director is the 'National Museum of Science

and Technology Leonardo Da Vinci' which was once an Olivetan

Monestary built in the early fifteenth century.

This evening a friend and I were lucky enough to get a table

for dinner in the beautiful halls of the ex monastery.

The chef who mastered our delicious meal of three starters,

one main course and two deserts was Stevie Parle who's

reputation is well earned if the food I just ate is anything to

go by. This was the first time I'd ever eaten the tips of hops 

plants in a salad, or monk's beard with fish...fantastic!  

Todays total experience in the Museum was a triumph of

sensual stimulation.

Well did you ever! There is a new 'concept' store

in Milan since a couple of weeks, and it could be

a first...at least I've never seen the likes of it before.

On one side of the store there's a marble slab table, 

above which hangs an array of salami sausages, on the 

other side the shelves display shoes. So whilst you try 

on a pair of Moma shoes or a pair of Premiata trainers, 

you can sample a slice of Italian salami.

This unusual store is called Agua & Food/Agua & More,

and can be found opposite the original women's wear store, 

Agua del Carmen in Via Cesare Correnti, 23 - Milan - Italy.

God Save The Food - Milano

If you're in the area of  Via Tortona 34 - Milano and

fancy a drink or something to eat you could do a lot

worse than popping into God Save The Food with it's

pleasing interior of clean lines and calm ambience.
